Job Description

Assistant Accountant - Dura Composites is an award-winning and leading supplier of composite products. We have been established for over 24 years and twice been awarded the Queens Award (2017 & 2020). We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join us in building a ‘world class’ finance process and KPI’s to support our business in Clacton on Sea, Essex.

As the successful Assistant Accountant, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for achieving assigned tasks and activities to ensure we strive in reaching our department vision, of delivering ’World Class Finance Processes’. Your role will be to do this through coordinating and managing daily and weekly bought ledgers and treasury activities.

Assistant Accountant is also responsible for:

  • Supporting Purchase Ledger, Treasury and Management Account functions.
  • Completing assigned month-end tasks.
  • Ensuring all accountable staff and stakeholders meet timescales set where they have financial tasks to complete.
  • Enable the Finance Team to deliver agreed monthly management accounts and KPI’s to the director team on time.
  • Providing general support for the Management Accountant and absence cover for the Credit Controller, as required.

Our ideal candidate will be AAT/ Part AAT Qualified or qualified by experience. Have a working knowledge of Sage 200 and Sage 50 as well as excellent IT skills. Most of all you will have strong organisation, decision-making skills with the ability to organise demanding workloads and prioritise tasks on a daily basis. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills and levels of professionalism.

This is a full-time permanent role with office hours of Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm. In return, we are offering a competitive salary of £24,000 - £27,000 (depending on the level of experience) with quarterly appraisal meetings to support you in your personal development and career aspirations.  20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with 1-day additional holiday after 2 years’ service.  With an option to purchase up to 5 additional days holiday (5 days to be taken over the Christmas period).
