Commercial Manager- Spider Recruitment Services, the specialist recruitment division of Spider are currently working with a growing traffic management company who pride themselves on not only meeting and delivering client expectations but also by exceeding them by providing a complete and quality temporary traffic management solution approach. The company operates around the clock across, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Norfolk, London, Cambridge and Northamptonshire.

An exciting opportunity has arisen, for a Commercial Manager to oversee the start-up of a new depot and manage the portfolio of clients by tendering for contracts with a long-term focus on commercial growth in Essex and the surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients from a multitude of industries, each with varying traffic management needs and processes.

On a day-to-day level the post holder will manage the operational requirements of a busy depot and office, ensuring a delivered service that is not only highly commended but that excels in both health, safety and industry compliance.

Responsibilities:

To seek opportunities to grow the business and to manage all aspects of contract management including; tendering, operational delivery, and review.
To Manage the day-to-day operations of a busy depot and office.
To Deal promptly and professionally with Customer complaints.
To work closely with Compliance to ensure ISO management systems are maintained.
Manage traffic management equipment needs and fleet requirements.
Carry out site audits in conjunction with compliance and SHEQ.
Look to strategically improve procedures by reviewing and developing operational process flows.
Provide support and information to field staff in order for them to carry out their duties effectively, training and mentoring when necessary to ensure standards are consistent across the business.
Analyse financial reports with an aim to give insight into how adjustments can be made to improve performance.

Skills & Experience:

Full UK Drivers Licence.
Excellent knowledge of the traffic management industry, including NHss and Chapter 8.
Must have proven Management experience including Project Management.
Excellent written and interpersonal skills and the ability to challenge constructively.
Negotiating skills.
Must have good attention to detail.
Excellent I.T skills including Microsoft Office.
Excellent numerical skills.

The ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate knowledge of contract management partnered with excellent knowledge of the traffic management industry. The post holder will need to be able to work closely with clients, managers, employees and subcontractors to facilitate a seamless operational delivery of our works in and around the Essex area and further afield when required.

The role requires someone who is hardworking, enthusiastic, flexible and have a real passion for striving for excellence. The ability to work autonomously and under pressure is essential to the success of the role.
