Finance Assistant – Due to ongoing business needs, a Finance Assistant role has been created to join this company's Finance team at this manufacturing company in Farnham, Surrey.

About the role:
The role is varied and working as part of a close-knit Finance Team. The main role will be costing which will involve costing up invoices, maintaining accurate stock valuations and project costings. In addition, you will be involved in assisting with the Accounts Payable function and the Accounts Receivable function of the company, as well as performing other financial analysis work. You will report directly to the Finance Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for calculating and checking costing, investigating variances and reporting to the Finance Manager.
- Assist in maintaining the Accounts Receivable ledger, handle queries, issue credit notes and credit checks on new and existing customers.
- Support the Accounts Payable function, verifying supplier bank details, invoices, and payments before approval. Additionally, you will cover bank reconciliations when team members are on holiday.
- Prepare the working papers for monthly and annual accounts and reconciliations, supporting the completion of the annual audit, and own and maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
- Support the preparation of VAT returns and reconciliations, complete ONS Surveys as required, and assist in compiling data for R&D Claims.
- Perform other data analysis work as required and undertake any other duties as requested by the Finance Manager.
About you:
Good team and communication skills, with a flexible approach and ability to work as part of a team to achieve team goals/ targets. The ability to work to deadlines is key, you need to enjoy working with figures, be able to work to a high degree of accuracy and have a good attention to detail.
As the successful Finance Assistant, you will have experience working in finance, be proactive in your approach to work, have a high level of attention to detail and have strong excel skills. You will be required to work on an ERP system.
This is an office-based role, offering a salary of £29,000 per annum working 40-hours per week. We would consider candidates looking for part time work, minimum 28 hours per week, where salary and holiday would be pro-rata.
