About the role:
As a HGV Driver (Class 1 and Class 2) roles involve standard working hours Monday - Friday. You will be responsible for delivering and collecting palletised cargo across the Suffolk area using curtain-sided vehicles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections, report any defects, and ensure the vehicle is operated safely and legally at all times.
- Plan and manage routes efficiently, report any major deviations, and oversee the safe loading and unloading of goods.
- Support efficient use of resources, including fuel and equipment.
- Act as a professional representative of the company in all dealings with clients, members of the public, and colleagues.
- Comply with all legal requirements and company policies, and provide accurate proof of delivery while promptly reporting any issues or incidents.
About you:
As a HGV Driver (Class 1 and Class 2), you will hold a full UK driving licence with Category C+E (Class 1) entitlement and a current CPC. Ideally you will have experience as a HGV (Class 1 and Class 2) but it is not essential, as we provide a thorough induction programme for the right candidate. You will have excellent communication skills and a polite, professional manner. You will be expected to maintain your vehicle in a safe, clean, and tidy condition at all times. ADR and/or a forklift licence is desirable but not required.
