Administrative and HR Assistant – Due to an internal promotion, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, the largest independent business organisation in Suffolk, is looking for a dynamic Administrative and HR Assistant to support its operations team and help ensure we remain the leading voice of business in Suffolk.
Full time or part time, with opportunities for hybrid working.

We are looking for an ambitious, organised and motivated individual who is looking for an interesting and varied role, where they can hone their skills within HR and office support. You will be supporting our Operations Director with providing HR support to over 50 staff, as well as providing general administrative support. This is a busy role where you will be working with a team of engaging and knowledgeable staff who provide a wide range of business support, so the role offers great development opportunities for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in HR and people management, as well as experience in providing administrative support in an office environment. An understanding of HR and legal compliance will be of benefit, but training will be provided to the right candidate who can demonstrate exceptional organisational skills.
Duties will include:
- Assisting with recruitment and selection, including booking interviews and responding
- to enquiries
- Managing confidential HR records
- Overseeing the implementation of a new HR database, management of annual leave and sickness absence requests, and filing of data
- Providing administrative support to the Operations Director, including diary management and dealing with enquiries
- Assisting with the annual ISO audit, including preparation of documents and extracting data
- Organisation and administration, including diary and email management
- Hands on and solutions focused
- Working with databases and processes
- Experience/interest in HR administration (training given to exceptional candidates)

We are offering a salary of £20,000 - £23,000 pro rata depending on experience, along with a pension and healthcare package and flexible working opportunities.
