Job Description

IT Infrastructure Delivery Manager- Spider is advertising for an IT Infrastructure Delivery Manager on behalf of a UK leading port Community Systems Provider (CSP). They work in close partnership with port and terminal operators, shipping lines, shipping and forwarding agents and hauliers. They are currently looking for an IT Infrastructure Delivery Manager to join their successful team in Felixstowe, Suffolk.

As the IT Infrastructure Delivery Manager, you will be reporting to the General Manager to manage the requirements of the business with regards to IT hardware, software, cyber security, and system integrity. You will ensure the company is at the forefront of technological enhancements and Cloud based services/solutions. You will support all the company teams in ensuring they meet their needs and to up-hold efficiency and productivity. You will support the successful development and implementation of systems changes or new systems by ensuring the system (Destin8) and associated networks are maintained and resilient to cyber-attacks. 

Other responsibilities will include: 

  • Prepare and propose IT Budget for all hardware/software licenses and maintenance. Manage budgets for projects directed by General Manager.
  • Act as MCP lead in Technical Liaison and Service Review meetings.
  • Maintain the currency of own skills through regular Continuous Professional Development, encouraging and aiding internal team members to do likewise.
  • Utilise hardware and software IT skills by providing support for PC upgrades/rebuilds, operating system and application configurations, and general office equipment support.
  • Management of all company hardware requirements (desktop machines/laptops/monitors) and organise upgrades in line with the demands of Office and Development tools and Development/Test practices.
  • Daily use of office PC equipment to assist the undertaking of set deliverables. 

To be their successful IT Infrastructure Delivery Manager, you will have a very good working knowledge of networks, current IT hardware and all aspects of the software products. You will have experience managing IT maintenance departments, managing large and complex activities and processes. You will have previous experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues related to IT. You will have the ability to monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost/productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.

Experience in the procurement of software licences and IT hardware. Be highly experienced in influencing and negotiation skills to seek management buy-in on ideas and concepts. You will have a good knowledge of Cyber security potential issues and prevention techniques and tools. 

This role is a permanent, full-time position managing the IT requirements of the company. The salary on offer is £60,000 per annum. Company benefits include holiday of 25 days plus bank holidays and company pension.
