Packaging Operatives – Aspall Cyder Limited is an established local manufacturer of cyder and vinegar. At an exciting time for the business which has seen a £10m development, we have an excellent opportunity for Packaging Operatives to join our Packaging Team on varied shifts on a full-time basis in Aspall, Suffolk.
As a Packaging Operative you will initially be assigned to one of our Packaging Departments (Bottling, Kegging or Night Hygiene) but there will be the opportunity to train across multi-departments for the right individuals.
Available roles include:
- Line Operative – Running the bottling line from labeller to end of line, could include providing ongoing general maintenance of the bottling lines, including fillers, labellers and outside packing as well as being responsible for the daily start-up process and line changes.Shift pattern for this role is rotating 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm.
- PPT/High Reach Operative – Using the reach truck to fill the depal with empty glassware and the ppt truck to take full pallets from the end of the line to be loaded onto lorries.Forklift Truck Licence is essential.Shift pattern for this role is rotating 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm.
- Kegging Operative – Following daily production plans which may include start-up, running, cleaning of the production line and line shut down.Shift pattern for this role is set 6am-2pm.
- Night Hygiene – Manually cleaning production equipment and environment according to cleaning schedules.Includes handling and using chemicals and operating CIP systems.There will be an opportunity to train as a Machine Minder when the bottling line starts running 24/5.Shift pattern for this role is set 10pm-6am.
All roles will include operating packaging plant, ensuring correct records are up to date on computer systems (SAP) and/or spreadsheets as well as cleaning/sterilisation of plant.
Although production experience is not necessarily required for these roles, experience of working to set processes and an ability to work under pressure whilst having excellent attention to detail and desire to do a job ‘right first time’ is essential. The successful candidates must have good communication skills and good reading and written English.
On offer is a starting salary of £20,550.40-£24,065.60 per annum (role dependent), enhancements for unsocial hours (10% for late shift and 15% for nights) as well as 20 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays).
