Procurement SpecialistSP Genevac are a well-established and highly regarded scientific equipment brand manufacturer, due to an increase in volume we are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our company based in Ipswich, on a full-time basis.

As the Procurement Specialist you will execute sourcing, procurement, and vendor management activities & projects for their assigned division / region.  This will involve selecting best landed cost and strategic sources of supply for our purchased components.  The role will negotiate master supply agreements, MOU, contracts, and blanket orders and, whilst working in partnership with the Inventory Leader & Planner, will setup the appropriate plant ERP system. You will manage their supply base performance against the agreed terms which includes their Q & D performance and supplier site audits. You may also periodically be responsible for assisting in general responsibilities in the tactical purchasing department.

Other key duties will include:

  • Liaise with engineering to ensure appropriate standards are used in material requirements. Ability to review and analyze large amounts of data to determine cost savings opportunities through good procurement methodologies. This will also include actively reducing SKUs / complexity in support of best cost solutions.
  • Plan and execute a procurement plan, as part of the SP Scientific sourcing team, that aligns with annual financial goals.
  • Work with the Inventory Leader and Planner to maintain purchasing item attributes, such as lead times, lot sizes, prices, in the various ERPs assigned to the division. 

To be consider for this role, you will need 5+ years successful procurement experience in a manufacturing organization with ERP. You will need to demonstrate the ability to drive cost-effective procurement through supplier collaboration as well as practical knowledge of purchasing and supply chain strategies. You will need strong verbal, written, communication and analytical skills. Good MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint would also be advantageous.
