Production Manager – This is a great opportunity to join GB Ingredients, part of the Lallemand Group. This Production Manager role has production management accountability for the downstream (ingredient and cleaning solution preparation, yeast drying, fresh and dry yeast packing) areas based at our site in Felixstowe, Suffolk.

As the Production Manager, you will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for managing and leading 14 direct reports to deliver (internal and external) customer requirements on time in full. This includes the management of people, plant, and processes to deliver the most effective customer service and safe, cost-effective operations.
- Ownership and ensuring compliance to all relevant QESH standards e.g., BRC, Halal, Kosher including audits and reporting to management team.
- Managing and coaching the team to achieve performance standards to align with the rest of the business and to achieve optimum performance.
- Devise, drive, communicate and measure appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) for the area of responsibility. These will include overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), plus relevant production, quality, safety, and people performance indicators.
- Liaises with other areas within business to ensure production and maintenance plans are compatible, and up to date with plant changes and meet agreed maintenance and production planning schedules.
The Production Manager role is full-time, working 09.00am – 17.00pm Monday to Friday. The role is part of the Operations Duty Manager roster. On offer to the successful candidate is a salary range of £40,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will receive 25 days holiday, and access to a contributory pension scheme.
You will need a degree qualified (2:1 or above) in a science, engineering or manufacturing discipline. You will be knowledgeable of safety, quality, and environmental processes. You will have microbiological expertise and problem-solving ability. You will have effective communication, influencing, presentation and planning skills. You will be computer literate, including Microsoft Office and numerate – comfortable with data. You will demonstrate commitment and a good understanding of health and safety for self and others. Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise used for example in Beer or Milk industries would be desirable.
