Production Operative – Are you mechanically minded? Have you worked in a mechanical production role or recently completed a mechanical apprenticeship? If so, Spider is advertising for an Ipswich based manufacturer, who due to an increase in volume is seeking to take on several Production Operatives in their Ipswich facility site, on a full-time basis.
This is a great opportunity and will provide the successful Production Operatives with support and training to develop in the role and get involved in the assembly, testing low level fault diagnoses and correction of products.
The Production Operative key tasks are:
- Assembly of mechanical and electrical sub-systems and full build of products.
- Testing of mechanical and electrical assemblies to ensure the product meets the quality standards.
- Highlighting any defaults with items received from outside contractors / suppliers or other departments.
- Achieve build times for each product line at the required quality levels and product specifications.
You will be a practical person, who can build and create using your hands with a mechanical ability. Ideally you will have experience in mechanical assembly within a light engineering environment or at least practical knowledge of production manufacturing industry. Ideally have brazing and soldering skills as well as the ability to read mechanical drawings but not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.
As well as having an excellent eye for detail and quality awareness, you will be computer literate and able to write and communicate clearly. A team player, who can motivate fellow colleagues and capable of multi-tasking and flexible thinking.
These Production Operative roles are full-time permanent roles, which is physically demanding, and you will be required to follow all Health & Safety procedures. Hours are 37.5 per week working Monday 7.30 – 4.30, Tuesday – Thursday 7.30 – 4.15 and Friday 7.30am – 1pm.
