Job Description

Production Operative- PPC is the global leader in connective technology. PPC's award-winning connectors, cables and accessories are used by cable systems, satellite networks and wireless businesses around the world. We are now looking to recruit an experienced Production Operative to join our team at Parham Airfield, near Framlingham, Suffolk on a permanent basis. 

The Production Operative will work in our fast-paced production environment carrying out the operating of cable extrusion lines and a variety of associated equipment to meet production schedule requirements. Once fully trained, you will be able to operate a range of production equipment including plastics extruders, material dryers, water cooling troughs, reeling machines and quality control test equipment to efficiently meet all production work requirements allocated whilst maintaining our core values of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. 

Production Operator key duties will include: 

  • Undertake a range of supporting tasks including production set-up activities, assembly operations, quality control inspection and processing tasks to meet production requirements. 
  • Set-up and running of multiple production lines and equipment.
  • QC testing products using a variety of equipment to ensure very high-quality standards are maintained and in accordance with the Company‘s ISO9001 processes
  • Efficiently meeting all production work requirements allocated following operating procedures and works instructions.
  • To carry out any other functions as necessary for the smooth running of the production process. 

About you: 

You will need previous experience in a production or factory environment ideally in running extrusion lines. It is preferable but not essential to have experience in the plastic processing industry. Ideally, you will have experience of setting and operating machinery within a manufacturing environment. Although not essential as full training will be given to operate within continuous production process to the right candidate. Educated to GCSE/HNC level (advantageous), with knowledge of mechanical engineering, a team-player and able to carry out all company working practices and Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.

This Production Operative position is a Full-Time position.  Working a flexible weekly three shift pattern with possible weekend and overtime when required.  Offering a starting salary of C. £22,000 (depending on experience), as well as a company pension, healthcare, an employee discount scheme, cycle to work scheme, paid time off for community charity work and a holiday entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays. Due to the rural location, it is essential you have your own transport, as site location is short drive off A12 and there are no direct public transport links, there is free parking on site.
