Job Description

Purchase Ledger Clerk – Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career? If so, this company are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their dedicated team of Purchase Ledgers in their team in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Your role:

As the Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will work in a team who deliver the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. Your key responsibility will be to maintain the supplier accounts, enabling prompt and efficient payment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Receiving, distributing and actioning post accordingly
  • Ensuring all relevant haulage documentation is received
  • Processing, scanning, validating and retrieving of invoices, including manually inputting supplier invoices as and when required
  • Invoice checking and verification, and where necessary obtaining approval for invoices from relevant divisions prior to making payment
  • Managing supplier accounts by reconciling with statements and dealing with/ resolving supplier queries as and when they arise
  • Checking payment runs for suppliers on the relevant payment dates and ensuring payment terms are adhered to
  • Setting up new, or amending, supplier accounts as requested by managers.

About you:

As the successful Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will have significant previous experience in a similar role, ideally liaising with providers and vendors of products and services. Essential that you have good knowledge of Microsoft packages, accurate data inputting skills, with a logical mindset, excellent attention to detail and ability to learn and memorise information.  Strong organisational and communication skills, with ability to prioritise and manage a workload would also be an advantage.
