Job Description

Purchasing Executive - Dura Composites is an award winning and leading supplier of composite products. We have been established for over 24 years and twice been awarded the Queens Award (2017 & 2020). We are looking for a Purchasing Executive to join our UK & Overseas Purchasing team based in Clacton on Sea, Essex, on a full-time permanent basis.

The Purchasing Executive will report to the UK & Overseas Purchasing Manager and your focus will be supporting the sales teams by developing and managing a preferred supply chain of suppliers. This is achieved through a combination of engaged suppliers, team efficiency, superior product quality, flexibility, and innovation. You will also:

  • Assist in the smooth running of the purchasing function from our UK suppliers using relevant software and reporting, to ensure the timely arrival and administration of the correct stock.
  • Effectively liaise with current and new suppliers regarding new aspects of the order process and liaise with the Sales and Operational teams accordingly.
  • Create load plans and contact shipping agents to arrange shipment bookings.
  • Complete FSC COC Audit work accurately; in time for FSC Audit
  • Attend relevant meetings and carry out a range of tasks to allow the office function to be executed smoothly and maintain excellent customer service. 

Our ideal candidate will have strong relevant administrative experienced, ideally within a purchasing/ supplier role.  Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of Sage 200. Most of all you will have strong organisation, decision-making skills as well as accuracy and attention to detail. You will demonstrate experience of continually improving service, products & processes to deliver a high level of customer service.

This is a full-time permanent role with office hours of Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm. In return we are offering a competitive salary of £22,000 - £28,000 (depending on level of experience) with quarterly appraisal meetings to support you in your personal development and career aspirations.  20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with option to purchase up to 5 additional days holiday (5 days to be taken over Christmas period).
