Job Description

QC Laboratory Technician (Nights) Aspall Cyder Limited, an established local manufacturer of cider and vinegar. At an exciting time for the business which has seen a £10m development, we have an excellent opportunity for a QC Lab Technician to join our Quality Control Team on a full-time basis, fixed night shift in Aspall, Suffolk.

As a QC Lab Technician, you will be ensuring that cyder and vinegar bottling operations meet agreed quality standards.

Other key duties include:

  • Monitoring chemical and physical quality of all Aspall products produced in Bottling and Kegging.
  • Testing liquids in tanks and ensuring they meet Aspall standards.
  • Checking labelling, packaging and coding to ensure it conforms to Aspall standards.

With additional training, you may also be asked to cover Main Laboratory checks.

The successful candidate will be working 40 hours a week on a fixed night shift (10pm-6am), following an initial training period which will be completed across both early (6am-2pm) and late (2pm-10pm) shifts which may take several months.

Although QC experience is not necessarily required for this role, experience or a chemistry A-Level would be desirable.  The successful candidate must have a good level of English, an ability to follow a recipe and able to work under pressure – someone that has previously worked as a chef would be ideal.

On offer is a salary of £24,065.60 per annum, enhancements for unsocial hours (15% for night shift) as well as 20 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays). Benefits include Cashback Healthcare Plan, Pension – 4% employer contribution (scheme rules apply), Sick Pay, Employee Assistance Programme, Onsite Free Parking, Cycle to Work Scheme and Staff Sales.

If you have the relevant skills and experience and would like to be considered, please apply by forwarding an up-to-date CV as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you.
