An exciting opportunity for a Sales Office Manager to join their team in Chorley, Lancashire working in a full-time role, Monday – Friday for 40 hours per week.

About the role:

As the Sales Office Manager, you will be providing an Internal Sales and Sales administrative function maximising enquiry conversation to orders. The Sales Office Manager will establish and develop a stable client base to support branch sales and margin. In this role, the Sales Office Manager will liaise with operational and external sales team to co-ordinate sales activities.

  • Assist Site Director in setting pricing policy and sales targets.
  • Respond to telephone or trade counter sales enquiries, pricing within current guidelines to maximise conversion to profitable orders.
  • Ensure follow-up of written quotations and verbal pricing, checking competitiveness and securing sales.
  • Provide feedback to sales and branch management on pricing levels and advise on suitability and necessary amendments.
  • Maintain content and accuracy of sales daybook.
  • Assist sales personnel with project tracking of potential business.
  • Answer customer enquiries, advising on product availability, delivery dates, transport schedules, and product lead-times promptly and accurately.
  • Handle customer complaints fairly and promptly to resolve problems satisfactorily for all parties involved.
  • Lead, monitor, and motivate employees.

About you:

You will ideally have experience within a similar role and people management, ideally you will have gained this experience within the logistics / distribution industry. You will be a customer-focused individual with strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. You will be results-driven, detail-conscious, and personable, with a business-minded and commercially focused approach. Required skills include sales experience, customer service expertise, IT proficiency (MS Office), product knowledge, and a strong focus on achieving sales targets. Being a team player is crucial for success in this role.
