We are advertising for one of the largest independent distributors in the UK who are looking for an experienced Service Coordinator to join their team in Hadleigh, Suffolk

About the role:

The Service Coordinator will support the client in elevating their business operations. Your main responsibility will be to provide top-tier administrative support and coordination, ensuring engineers and contractors are effectively scheduled and our customers are kept informed.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 08;00 – 17:00.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Efficiently manage and distribute planned and reactive tasks to internal engineers and external contractors.
  • Keep customers informed about necessary work and send detailed job estimates.
  • Order and follow up on parts required to complete jobs.
  • Create and send invoices for completed work.
  • Actively chase quotes issued to customers to ensure timely responses and provide continuous progress updates to customers.
  • Maintain and update job cards in the scheduling system.
  • Relay necessary actions to service engineers, technicians and refer complex technical questions to the service manager.
  • Refer customers to the relevant Area Sales Manager in cases of uneconomical repairs.

About You:

To succeed in this Service Coordinator role, you should possess previous experience in a service coordination role, coupled with a proactive “can do” attitude. Outstanding oral and written communication skills are essential, along with a good understanding of commercial operations. Exceptional customer service skills are required to effectively manage interactions with both internal and external stakeholders. You should be tech-savvy, with proficiency in MS-based applications and general computer literacy. An eye for detail and a methodical, systematic approach to administration will ensure your success in this role.
