Job Description

They are currently recruiting for a Software Developer, to join their team in Felixstowe. 

This organisation has a dedicated ICT team providing all ICT services and support to staff and operations that works alongside the Port of Felixstowe as well as supporting external customers of the organisation applications throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities of the Software Developer include:

  • Understand sometimes complex business needs and interpret these into software designs and solutions that are effective, fit for purpose and meet the user’s expectations according to industry standards and processes.
  • Seek out and deliver enhancements to software solutions.
  • Create detailed designs for software applications or components applying agreed modelling techniques, standards, patterns, and tools.
  • Use design tools (such as wireframes) to evolve prototypes of web pages and user experience.
  • Use AGILE and DevOps principles to ensure timely and iterative delivery of solutions.
  • Build, and test code using a variety of modern languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, REACT, Node.js, Redux, typescript, C#, .Net
  • Build and manage pipeline deployments
  • Undertake frequent reviews of own work and frequently participate with code reviews to enable consistency and parity with peers.

As the Software Developer you will have a recognised expert understanding in your area of expertise, of software development and preferably other technologies that support full stack development, e.g., infrastructure, enterprise architecture,  Software Development practices, tools, and common languages; Web Servers and Web Applications; Application servers; Databases,  Application and data integration technologies; Modern data architectures including big data and future analytics capabilities; Office 365 Cloud Computing (Azure, SharePoint etc); Amazon, Serverless, Lambda, Security and Compliance (Cyber Security); User Interface Design; Testing and Automation; Business Intelligence and robotics. 

This position is offered on a permanent basis with a salary of £29,174 - £41,591 per annum depending on experience.
