Job Description

Supply Chain AssistantAspall Cyder Limited, an established local manufacturer of cider and vinegar.  They are looking for a Supply Chain Assistant to join their team based in Aspall, Suffolk. 

The Supply Chain Assistant will report to and support the Stock and Inventory Controller in managing inventory levels within agreed stock parameters and also work closely with other members of the supply chain team.  You will ensure adequate packaging and raw materials deliveries are planned to arrive in time to meet all operational site requirements. The role will include dealing with suppliers, placing purchase orders in line with criteria set by the buyer, as well as maintaining accurate prices within the SAP business system to ensure accurate and efficient invoicing.  You will need to be able to react to daily operational changes and priorities in this fast - paced environment. 

Other key duties include: 

  • Raise purchase orders in ERP system, maintaining purchase prices agreed by the Buyer in business system, monitor any variance.
  • Place orders to maintain inventory at agreed stock levels and guidelines, identify stock shortages, communicate to planners and work to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Carry out daily and weekly stock counts on site, as well as month end and year end stock checks (may include working weekends) as required.
  • Reconcile purchase orders, credits, and returns notes.

You will have relevant experience in a similar role, with a good level of IT skills (including Word and Excel).  Will be a good communicator (both in person and on the phone) as you will need to ensure timely communication of all business activity that affects the supply base.  Excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be liaising with the operations and supply chain teams to resolve any supply issues. 

This is a full-time role, typical working hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm, although there will be a requirement for some flexibility on hours to support stock checks e.g., may include working weekends.  On offer is an excellent salary based on experience as well as 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays).
