Support Worker (Young Adult Residential) - Specialist Education Services has 15 years of outstanding practice in caring for and educating looked after children with complex social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. In September 2020 we began a new venture, designed to serve vulnerable care leavers who, post 18, require and will benefit from a highly personalised, community-based, residential provision.
We are looking for a Support Worker (Young Adult Residential) to join the team providing all aspects of care and further educational development of the young adults residing at our provision in Beccles, Suffolk.
As the Support Worker (Young Adult Residential), you don’t need to have any care qualifications to apply for this position but experience of working with children or young adults with social, emotional, and mental health complexities would be beneficial. Staff without a relevant qualification will be supported to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Care.
You will need to be qualified in English Language or Literacy to a Level 1 standard and hold a full UK driving licence. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to have your own transport.
As the home provides care and support for young adults 24 hours a day, the position involves working shifts (with occasional sleep-ins). The shift pattern is based on a 37 hour week. In return, we are offering a salary of £18,562 to £21,322 (depending on experience) plus a sleeping in bonus as per rota.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and young adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments are dependent on a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.
If you would like to be considered, please apply by forwarding an up to date CV as soon as possible. Please note, all selected candidates will be forwarded an application pack to be completed before short-listing.
The closing date is 30th July 2021.
