Job Description

Specialist Education Services has 15 years of outstanding practice in caring for and educating looked after children with complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties. In September 2020 we began a new venture, designed to serve vulnerable care leavers who, post 18, require and will benefit from a highly personalised, community based, residential provision.

We are looking for a Young Adult Residential Support Worker to join the team providing all aspects of care and further educational development of the young adults residing at our provision in Beccles, Suffolk.

You don’t need to have any care qualifications to apply for this position but experience of working with children or young adults with social, emotional and mental health complexities would be beneficial. Staff without a relevant qualification will be supported to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care.

You will need to be qualified in English Language or Literacy to a Level 1 standard and hold a full UK driving licence. Due to the nature of the role you will be required to have your own transport.

As the home provides care and support for young adults 24 hours a day, the position involves working shifts (with occasional sleep ins). On offer is a salary of £18,562 to £21,322 (depending on experience) plus sleeping in bonus as per rota. The shift pattern is based on a 37 hour week.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and young adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Appointments are dependent on a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.

Closing date for application is Friday 18 June 2021
