Trade Counter Salesperson- Spider is advertising for a Trade Counter Salesperson for a family- owned company which has been established over 45 years. They specialise in the supply of quality fixings solutions, fastenings, cable support, power tools, site equipment and consumables to the construction industry and allied trades. This Trade Counter Salesperson role is a permanent position based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.

As a Trade Counter Salesperson, you will work in a busy and friendly environment at their Burgess Hill premises and will be required to take overall responsibility for trade counter sales. You will be building rapport with customers and serving them in a polite and friendly way, recognising customer product requests and recommending and advising accordingly. You will proactively be generating sales whilst maintaining the highest standard of customer service in accord with the company’s policy. You will be responsible for keeping the trade counter tidy and presentable, arranging displays to maximise sales. You will have the responsibility for taking payments and handling cash. This would also include booking goods out to customer accounts via the accounting programme. Other additional duties will include warehouse work, unpacking, checking goods in and putting them away.
For this Trade Counter Salesperson role, they are looking for an applicant with the following skill set:
- Good knowledge of building products and tools, preferably with previous experience in the trade
- Ability to relate one-to-one with customers
- Competent in negotiating prices and providing excellent customer support
- Basic PC skills are essential
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
This is a full-time, permanent position. On offer is a salary of £22,000-£25,000 per annum. You will have set hours working Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break. Other benefits will include 20 paid holidays plus birthday and public holidays, product training, free onsite parking, and no weekend work.
