As the Traffic Operator you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. Your team consists of experienced Customer Service Representatives and by teaming up with other operational and supportive departments within the organisation; a high service level can be achieved with the shared aim of achieving the very best for our customers.

So, what's this job all about?  As our Traffic Operator you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of an efficient and cost-effective collection and delivery service.

Other key responsibilities will include: 

  • Planning collections to ensure customer delivery times are met whilst ensuring maximum productivity and legal compliance
  • Monitoring daily planning and adjusting where necessary
  • Liaising with sub-contractors to ensure drivers are aware of their individual timetable and dealing with any queries
  • Making ferry bookings ensuring optimum use of available shipping routes
  • Informing the Commercial team of any likely service failures
  • Updating systems and load registers

 About you 

As Traffic Operator you will have strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise your workload as well as knowledge of UK/EU customs requirements. Excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and good geographical knowledge of the UK and Europe is highly Important.  Previous transport experience, including an understanding of Working Time and tachograph legislation, would be an advantage and you will have the flexibility to work alternating shift patterns which includes weekend working, holiday, and absence cover.  There is a requirement to cover out of hours phone calls.
