Job Description

Trainee Audiologist – Are you looking for a new opportunity? Do you want to earn why you learn? If so, this could be the next role for you!

Hearing Care Centre, Ipswich is a multi-award-winning company, part of the TAC Holdings Ltd group of hearing care companies. We have been established since 1998 and operate from 27 locations across both Suffolk and Norfolk.  We are now recruiting for an individual who wishes to train and study to become an Audiologist. All you need is the right aptitude, self-discipline to learn and study and the desire to become a fully qualified Audiologist!

During your training, you will be employed by the Hearing Care Centre Ltd and have a full induction within the Company and its clinics to understand how the business works. You will be studying towards the FdSc in Audiology and will attend University approximately once per term for one week at a time (accommodation and meals provided). For the remainder of the time, you will work closely with your assigned mentor so that you can learn and further develop your skills within the Practice. Whilst some study time is provided, you will also need to assign some of your own time – the qualification period is usually two years.

To be successful, you will have the desire to work in the healthcare sector and be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in this area. To meet the University’s criteria, you will need a  Level 3 qualification or equivalent, e.g. A levels. Some Certificates or Diplomas may be eligible – we would check these for the right applicants.  You will require a driving licence and your own transport and be happy to drive to our clinics within Norfolk and Suffolk (mileage will be paid) as well as staying overnight for up to 5 nights at a time during your week at University.

Excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour and ability to demonstrate rapport and empathy are essential.

Your salary will be reviewed at intervals throughout your training and upon completion, you will be paid a good basic salary of up to £21,000 per annum (depending on experience) as well as an opportunity to participate in our generous commission scheme.

If you feel you meet the criteria and are interested in this highly rewarding career where you’ll be part of a fun, supportive and committed team, please forward your up-to-date CV with covering letter as one document as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you.

If you require any reasonable adjustments such as access or information in an alternative format, please inform us soon as you are able so that we can make the appropriate adjustments.
