Job Description

Transport Planner – Spider is advertising on behalf of a successful and growing company based in Offton near Needham Market who supply portable toilets to the construction and event industries. They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and adaptable individual to join their small but busy team in the role of Transport Planner

As Transport Planner your key responsibility will be planning transport routes, including service rounds, deliveries, and collections. Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise with operatives to ensure that their work is carried out in a timely and efficient manner
  • Monitor and manage collections and deliveries and inform customers of any deviations to the planned collection/delivery
  • Update the system with correct collection and delivery points, whilst ensuring relevant manual systems in place to ensure business contingency if required
  • Form relationships with customers and key contacts
  • Work alongside the Hire Controller to ensure the hiring process runs smoothly

As the Transport Planner, you will have experience in transport planning, this is essential with experience in multi-drop deliveries and hire administration an advantage. Positive customer service attitude, with experience in a customer-focused operational role (desirable, but not essential). You must be organised and possess excellent communication skills to offer the highest quality of service to our customers. You will have excellent organisational skills, including ability to prioritise and manage own workload. You will have good numeracy skills and IT skills, including MS Word & Excel, knowledge of logistical planning technology and H&S knowledge and awareness.

A competitive salary of £18,000 - £22,000 per annum is on offer for this full-time position, working 40 hours a week, with 28 days Holiday (including Bank Holiday)
