Warehouse Technician- Spider is advertising for a Warehouse Technician on behalf of a company who supplies generators, distribution, cable, and lighting to a range of industries including the live event industry and construction. Due to continued growth, they are now searching for a Warehouse Technician to join them on a permanent position based in Ipswich, Suffolk.
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Technician role is key to assist in the smooth running of the Warehouse. Working to ensure an efficient and organised warehouse, undertaking electrical, mechanical tasks, general maintenance and repairs of the warehouse and on-site technical support.
The job requires that equipment is prepped and returned in an organised manner. With the ability to respond to last minute changes or new jobs received, ensuring that a high level of service is constantly maintained.
Other duties include:
- Ensuring equipment is prepped ready for hires/purchases and is tracked upon return.
- Forklift driving required to move equipment at the warehouse and on-site.
- Check stock levels of fuel parts and consumables e.g. fuel and gas.
- Keep track and manage stock levels in line with the database and deal with faults, missing stock and damaged items.
- Assist with the annual stock take.
Whilst you will receive guidance with tasks, you will also be required to be self-motivated and proactive in carrying out your duties and at times lone work.
The role will be predominately based at their HQ, the core working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5, 37.5 hours per week. Flexible hours considered. However, due to the nature of the industry and the requirement to oversee the completion of projects and events, flexibility is required with working hours, and there is a requirement to work away from the premises during evenings and weekends, some of this may be at short or little notice. On offer is a salary of £16,000 - £20,000 per annum (salary dependant on skills and experience).
Full training will be provided with this role. However, an understanding or interest in temporary electrics and diesel engines is required.
