Job Description

Workshop Supervisor – Spider are advertising on behalf of a well-known family farming business, established in 1939, that grow combinable sugar beet, crops and early new season root vegetable production for all year-round supply. They are looking to employ a full time Workshop Supervisor, to work in a busy farm workshop, where you will be responsible for coordinating the engineers and tractor drivers in the workshop and keeping stock of all the machine and workshop parts.

The Workshop Supervisor Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Organising and coordinating the engineers
  • Coordinating the tractor drivers whilst they are in the workshop
  • Sourcing parts and liaising with reps to attain the best prices and quotes
  • Keeping stock and monitoring Hydraulic fittings, hoses and pipes
  • Checking parts against invoices/delivery notes
  • Monitoring and keeping stock of workshop consumables such as oil, nuts and bolts in an organised way
  • Working closely with the Farm Mangers to ensure the workshop runs smoothly
  • Build good relationships whilst onsite, representing the company to a high standard
  • Ensure health & safety is met at all times
  • Other tasks as required to support an operational requirement

Work Experience & Skills

  • Experience of working in a similar role, ideally with agricultural equipment
  • Full UK Driving license is essential
  • Good IT skills to include Excel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 39 hours Monday – Friday.  Salary is negotiable depending on experience. Company benefits include discretional bonus scheme, 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), training and progression opportunities. Contractually, basic hours of work are 39 hours per week, however this role requires flexibility as hours can be higher during harvest time.
